    Description

Texas employers have identified a lack of workforce readiness skills, especially in individuals who are new to the workforce. A lack of such skills presents a consistent challenge in the hiring and retention of employees. The purpose of the Workforce Readiness Training for Career and Technical (CTE) Students program is to: 1) create new or expand existing Workforce Readiness Training programs used by Local Education Agencies (LEAs), employers, and other community partners; and 2) develop, implement, and support training designed to build CTE students’ workforce readiness skills. An Eligible Applicant under this RFA is a Nonprofit Organization as defined in Section 1.2, Definitions and Acronyms, of this RFA Solicitation.Nonprofit Organizations do not have to be Texas-based; however, they must provide a physical, Texas-based address on the Contact Information Form in the Application that is within the community or communities it proposes to serve. For the purposes of this RFA, LEAs, IHEs, Regional Education Service Centers and Local Workforce Development Boards are not considered Eligible Applicants.
