    Description

Mexichem Fluor Inc. (MFI) is working under Department of Energy Grant DE-MS0000009 to design, engineer, plan and build a Lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) plant in Louisiana, United States of America.

MFI intends to issue a request for proposal (RFP) for a complete waste water treatment equipment package, including all controls, valving, piping, and equipment to treat contaminates in a process discharge stream prior to disposal of water to an outfall.  Discharge stream shall meet local discharge requirements. Equipment sizing and material selection shall be by supplier, package piping shall comply with Purchaser’s quotation.

Package flow rate is ~2,950 minimum/ 3,536 normal/ 10,453 maximum LB/HR, with the  HF and HCL composition expected to be 19 wt% and 2 wt% respectively, with the balance being water.  Batch neutralization technology is preferred due to the high level of acid in the waste stream.  Treated water must remove HF below a 7 MG/ML (ppmw) requirement under normal conditions. Purchaser will have the following chemicals available for the Supplier:

    • 10% Lime Slurry (aqueous)
    • Soda Ash
    • 2% or 36% HCL (aqueous)
    • 25% NaOH (aqueous)

RFP is expected to be released on-or-about May 8, 2026.

Proposal evaluation factors will include technical, commercial, and governmental compliance, as well as past relevant experience, supplier qualifications and compliance with submittal requirements.

Potential bidders will need to have executed non-disclosure agreements and be successfully registered in good standing with SAM.gov within the 30-day Open Advertisement duration, prior to receiving bid documents.
