In addition, these services include the daily management and oversight of this fixed-route bus system, including, but not limited to, proper maintenance and repairs for buses and equipment, scheduling, routing, road supervision, safety and accident investigation, fare collection, use and support, fare collection, use and support of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and customer service activities during normal operating circumstances, as well as during unusual operating circumstances, such as inclement weather or emergency service operations.The County of Rockland Department of Public Transportation (RCDPT) is responsible for the supervision and contract management of local bus transit programs, including the TOR bus service. TOR currently has a fleet of 45 vehicles used for this fixed-route bus service that are owned by the County of Rockland. These buses were purchased with funding provided by the Federal Transit Administration, New York State Department of Transportation and local County of Rockland matching funds. These agencies have an interest in the successful operation and maintenance of the TOR bus service and these buses and all guidelines and requirements set forth by these agencies regarding such must be followed.
