The required RRFB system is specified by Lee County DOT as part of its approved traffic control equipment standards. Using an alternate manufacturer or system could result in compatibility issues with existing installations, increased maintenance costs, additional staff training requirements, and challenges in stocking replacement components. It may also require additional review, testing, or approval by Lee County DOT, potentially delaying project completion.

Therefore, procurement of the specified RRFB system from the authorized source is necessary to comply with Lee County DOT requirements, maintain system uniformity, and ensure reliable long-term operation and maintenance of the pedestrian crossing infrastructure. No other product is acceptable because it would not satisfy the County's standardization and compatibility requirements.
