The Town of Ticonderoga seeks qualifications for New York State licensed professional engineering firms or licensed engineering teams to prepare design services through Construction regarding the Well Source Development Project for the residents of Chilson/Eagle Lake area. The Town of Ticonderoga is currently operating the Gooseneck Pond water source under a Filtration Avoidance Criteria from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Town of Ticonderoga is required to discontinue the Gooseneck Pond water source as a drinking water source. The Town of Ticonderoga has traditionally obtained drinking water from two water sources owned and licensed by the Town of Ticonderoga, Gooseneck Pond and Lake George. The Chilson-Eagle Lake area currently gets their drinking and fire flow water from Gooseneck Pond but is not currently within a formal district. The Chilson-Eagle Lake area is geographically separated by terrain from the hamlet of the Town of Ticonderoga (former Village of Ticonderoga). In 2021 The Town of Ticonderoga hired Barton & Loguidice, (B&L) to complete a Map, Plan and Report for the proposed Chilson-Eagle Lake Water District. In 2023, AES Northeast submitted a preliminary engineering report listing the project on the Annual Intended Use Plan with NYS EFC. The requested professional services are to update the Map, plan and report, and preliminary engineering necessary for the revised scope of work for the project. The project referenced in this RFQ is funded with New York State and Federal loan and grant funds.
