ADVERTISEMENT FOR EXECUTIVE MEP ENGINEER The University of California, Los Angeles, requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select Executive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineers to work with the University's internal staff architects on various projects managed by UCLA Facilities Management. The projects will be assigned as necessary over the term of the agreement, which may be up to three years. Under the direction of UCLA Facilities Management, the Executive MEP Engineers will assist the University's internal Executive Architects on an as-needed basis, with pre-design MEP assessments, existing building system investigations, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration services for the selected renovation, alteration, deferred maintenance program, and smart buildings and labs program projects. Scopes of work associated with this RFQ will primarily be located on the UCLA main campus and possibly be located at UCLA-owned off-campus properties. Projects will be under the jurisdiction of the Campus Building Official and Campus Fire Marshal. UCLA will award up to four (4) Executive MEP Engineer agreements. UCLA reserves the right to assign the awarded Executive MEP Engineers to the project for which they are most qualified based on project type and experience. The Executive MEP Engineers awarded will provide design services with varied project scopes within existing UCLA buildings. The construction costs for these projects have not yet been determined and will be defined by each project¿s scope of work and phasing requirements. During each project, the entire scope of work may be executed through several phased, incremental projects. The anticipated project cost range may be from $50,000 to $10M per individual project. UCLA will choose the Executive MEP Engineers based on qualifications in response to this RFQ. The selection committee will base its review of the Executive MEP Engineers' submitted proposals and selection on the identified Selection Criteria (Attachment A). UCLA reserves the right to assign the awarded Executive MEP Engineer(s) to the project for which they are most qualified based on project type and experience. The final selection and appointment of the Executive MEP Engineers is contingent upon project approval by the UC Board of Regents or their delegated authority. This RFQ is for complete design services; however, the University reserves the right to defer negotiations for services other than pre-design studies until the completion of the pre-design phase.
