    Description

    PURPOSE: The Maryland Environmental Service (Service or MES) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to seek qualified firms to procure, plant and provide maintenance/watering services for establishing up to an estimated 800 trees within the Baltimore metro area. The estimated quantity of 800 trees is provided for planning purposes only and may be increased or decreased based on the total costs proposed and available funding; the actual number of trees planted will be determined by the awarded not to exceed contract amount. The Contractor shall provide equipment/tools, supplies, personnel, supervision, and consulting services necessary to ensure that trees are installed and maintained in a professional manner. Activities will consist of project planning, permit acquisition (if required), procurement of tree stock, site preparation, tree planting, reporting, 2-year period of tree monitoring and maintenance, and volunteer education, community outreach and engagement (as needed).
