Warren County Commissioners seek bids for rehabilitation of the 2.65-mile Warren Bike-Hike Trail in Pennsylvania, focusing on full surface overlay to address cracking and heaving. Proposals via PennBid; contact Josh Cotton for project questions.
The Warren County Commissioners are seeking construction bids for the rehabilitation of the existing 2.65-mile Warren Bike-Hike Trail. The trail begins in the City of Warren at the terminus of Seventh St. and proceeds north, terminating at the intersection with N. State St. in Conewango Township. The current trail follows in the path of a defunct railroad. The existing trail surface was originally constructed in the mid-1990s in a series of phases. While some minor repair work has been completed over the ensuing 30 years (most recently within the last five years), the condition of the trail surface is such that a full overlay is required.Major issues to be addressed include extensive thermal cracking as well as heaving due to tree roots along the trail. The trail has become a vital resource for individuals utilizing the businesses in N. Warren and is frequently used as a means to commute. As a result, Warren County seeks to work with a firm that will commit to minimizing trail disruptions and be able to complete the work in an efficient manner. All proposals will be submitted through PennBid at pennbid.bonfirehub.com. Questions regarding the submission process should be submitted through the PennBid platform. Other questions not related to that process but to the project more generally should be directed to Josh Cotton, grant writer, at (814) 728-3434 or jcotton@warrencountypa.gov.
