PUBLIC NOTICENOTICE OF INVITATION FOR BID:Bids for Weed Abatement Services must be submitted through SacRT’s PlanetBids Vendor Portal no later than 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Pacific Local Time at which time bids will be publicly available to view on the PlanetBids site.General work description: to provide weed abatement services along SacRT’s rail right-of-way and adjacent property (“rights-of-way”). The successful Contractor must keep SacRT’s each abatement zone free and clear of weed growth, down to bare earth or pavement, for at least 20’ from the edge of the nearest rail on either side. The Contract term will be for 5 years with the option to renew for two additional 1-year periods.This is a preventive maintenance Contract financed in part with federal funds. Contractor will be required to comply with all EEO laws and regulations. This Contract is subject to the Buy America provisions set forth in 49 U.S.C. section 5323 and 49 C.F.R. Part 661 and Contractor must comply with its terms.It is the policy of the U.S. Department of Transportation that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), as defined in 49 C.F.R. Part 26, are encouraged to participate in the performance of contracts financed in whole or in part with federal funds. As a condition of federal grant assistance, SacRT has adopted a DBE program for SacRT's federally-funded contracts. Consequently, the DBE requirements of 49 C.F.R. Part 26 apply to this contract. No DBE goal has been established for this Contract. However, if subcontracting opportunities exist for the work required for this Contract, Bidders/Proposers must ensure that DBEs have the opportunity to participate in the performance of this Contract. Contractor must not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age in the award and performance of subcontracts.SacRT does not prequalify subcontractor firms.
