    The City of Avondale invites Quotes for Weed and Herbicide Chemicals in accordance with the specifications and provisions contained in this Request for Quotations ("RFQ") on an as-needed basis (the “Material”) for a period of one year with four renewable one-year terms.

    Background

    The City of Avondale Public Works Department is seeking quotations for the procurement of weed and herbicide chemicals that are effective in controlling broadleaf weeds, grassy weeds, unwanted vegetation, and trees within City limits. The selected vendor(s) shall provide quality herbicide products that comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This procurement supports the City’s efforts to maintain safe, clean, and aesthetically maintained public properties.

      The City is seeking pricing for, but not limited to, the following products or approved equals:

      • Pendulum
      • Garlon
      • Additional herbicide and vegetation management chemicals as requested by the City

      Concentration and Formulation

      • Provide specifications on the concentration of active ingredients upon request.
      • Offer liquid and/or granular formulations as applicable.
      • Products shall meet or exceed manufacturer standards and EPA labeling requirements.

      Packaging Requirements

      • Packaging shall ensure the integrity of the product during shipment and storage.
      • Containers must be clearly labeled with product information, hazard warnings, handling instructions, and application guidance.
      • Damaged or leaking containers will not be accepted.

      Delivery Requirements:

      • Vendor will provide a detailed delivery timeline with the quote submission
      • Deliveries shall be FOB Destination.
      • Deliveries must occur during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated with the City.

      No substitute product will be considered unless a written substitution request has been submitted through the Question and Answer section of this solicitation and received by the City Representative by the Substitution Request Deadline. Requests shall include the name of the product to be substituted along with complete product literature, specifications, performance data, and any additional information necessary for evaluation.

      Approval of any substitute product shall only be granted through written addendum issued by the City.

    Q (Getting Alternate Chemicals Approved.): Who do I need to contact to provide information and get approval for alternate products?

    A: Please refer to Section 2.3 – Approval of Substitutions in the solicitation documents. As stated, any substitute product request must be submitted through the Question and Answer section prior to the Substitution Request Deadline and include all required supporting documentation for evaluation. Approval of substitute products, if granted, will be issued through a written addendum by the City.
