Weld County is conducting market research to understand available solutions, approaches, and estimated costs to implement a performance‑based merit increase framework. Weld County’s employee performance evaluations are currently scored on a scale of 1-5. At present, each employee that receives a 3 or higher overall score on their performance evaluation is eligible for the same percentage increase to their pay (1.5% in 2026). In the future, Weld County would like to have the ability to pay different percentages to different employees based on if their score is 3, 4, or 5 out of 5. For example, an employee who scores a 1 or 2 out of 5 will not be eligible for any increase. An employee who scores a 3 might be eligible for a 1% increase, a score of 4 might be eligible for a 1.5% increase, and a 5 might be eligible for a 2% increase.
