The curtain rods shall have the capability to allow one person to efficiently connect the curtain to the curtain rod and then attach the curtain rod to the VA provided curtain tracks (hence, a one-person task). The curtain dimensions are 112 inches in width by 66 inches in height. The curtains require Near Field Communication (NFC) tags embedded in each curtain, including the NFC software to manage the lifecycle of each curtain. Delivery, a site visit/survey (to determine the exact length of curtain rods needed), and installation is part of the requirement. Installation includes the setup of the curtains, curtain rods, and the NFC Tag software. There are 130 install locations located within VA San Diego SCI-CLC hospital . The curtain tracks are already installed at each location.
The requirement is for Domestically made products. If the products are not made domestically, Veterans Affairs require the Country of Origin of each product listed within this Sources Sought Notice, as FAR clause 52.225-1 "Buy America-Supplies and FAR clause 52.225-2 Buy American-Certificate applies.
