PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order for the purchase of playground equipment for Station Valdez Housing, in Valdez, Alaska. The vendor will be NORTHWEST PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT, INC., 345 NW Dogwood St, Issaquah, WA 98027-3216, UEI: JJ5XBHMWESP6

This action is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. The vendor was recently awarded a competitive purchase order for playground equipment at the requested location. Additional equipment requested must interface and complement the existing equipment in terms of durability and style to create an integrated playground. USCG Base Kodiak, Kodiak AK 99615, will be the procuring entity for this effort. The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses, and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 339920.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 18 Sep 2025, at 8:00 a.m., Alaska time. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
