    This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this sources sought must be in writing. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified Small Businesses interested and capable of providing the services described below. The priority is to find two or more Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB). Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional area expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name (b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax, and email (e) DUNS number (f) Cage Code (g) Tax ID Number and (h) must provide a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below. CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF WORK The Phoenix VA Health Care System (Agency) has requested a service contract to Laser Etch and purchase Nu Trace scanner for purposes of tracking and having a full accounting of inventory. This professional service aids in preventing the loss of instrumentation and being able to track trays and instrumentation and scopes in real time. Also, this will help with better care for our Veterans. For several months the SPS department has been trying to mark instrumentation that is purchased as well as older instruments. This has caused a back-up/pile-up of instruments needing etching thus preventing the department from keeping up with the demand of instrument sets for surgical procedures. REQUIRED SERVICES Laser Etching of up to 50,000 instruments at 800 per day. Instruments to be marked with unique device identifier for each instrument. Data entry/editing of current instruments in inventory. Existing instruments will be reviewed for accuracy of description and eliminate duplicates. Instruments markings not picked up/identified by initial scans will be removed and remarked with Class II Laser. Edit and make necessary count sheet changes to help eliminate tray-picking errors. This will include the usage and shipping of another laser to be present in helping with project. This will also include training staff to operate Laser Etching machine. Annual laser and scanner preventive maintenance program. This will include base plus 3 years.
