All gate pieces must be painted with an industrial grade alkyd gloss enamel with a finish color of brown. Prime and finish coats are required. Prepare the bare metal surfaces according to the paint manufacturer’s recommendations and SSPC standards. Apply a prime coat according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The finish coat must have a wet mil rate between 3.5 – 7.0 and a dry mil rate between 2.0 – 4.1. The paint can be applied by brush, roller or spray.
