The scope of work includes repairing motor joints The mortar joints between the 95’-0 level and the 75’-0 level (100% / 600 SF) will be ground out as needed to a minimum depth of 1” or until sound surface is reached. The prepared mortar joints will be tuckpointed with an ASTM C270 Type N mortar. The mortar joints will be rinsed of dust and debris prior to repointing. The open and deteriorated mortar joints below the 70’-0 level (approx. 10% / 200 SF) will be ground out as needed and the prepared mortar joints will be tuckpointed with an ASTM C270 Type N mortar. The joints will be rinsed of dust and debris prior to repointing. The exterior surface of the steel tension bands will be cleaned of peeling paint and loose rust. The prepared steel bands will be coated with a rust inhibitive industrial grade product.
