    Description

    Sealed proposals for the City of Carbondale Police Station Renovations, Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, will be received by PennBid until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. All properly submitted proposals will be publicly read at the scheduled Carbondale Council Meeting at Carbondale City Hall, 1 North Main Street, Carbondale, PA, at 6:00 p.m. on the same date. Scope of Work The work on this project will include but is not limited to the demolition and reconstruction of the police station located in the Carbondale City Hall. This along with the intake/interrogation room and the new wall and door separating the lobby with the rear corridor are Base Bid. Bid alternate #1 will consist of demolition and renovation of the toilet rooms. Project drawings and specifications may be obtained at PennBid. Request can be made at pennbid.net. Construction Documents are available for examination at the following location: KBA Engineering, p.c. 25 South Washington Avenue Jermyn, PA. 18433 Phone: 570-876-5744 Fax: 570-876-4299 Bidders’ proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, certified bank treasurer’s check, bank cashier’s check or bid bond in the form provided in the Contract Documents. A satisfactory corporation surety shall provide security in an amount equal to 10% of the base bid. The surety shall name as payee or obligee the City of Carbondale. A Non-Collusion Affidavit of Contractor will be required to be signed and notarized prior to the award of any contract. A no-lien agreement will be required to be signed and filed by the contractor before any work begins on the project. Notice is hereby given that the project for which construction proposals are being solicited hereby is a project constituting public works and is subject to applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act of October 27, 1955, P.L. 744, and the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act 442 of August 15, 1961, as amended on August 9, 1963. All proposals shall be irrevocable for sixty (60) days after bid opening date, unless delayed due to required approvals of another governmental agency, and shall be accompanied by 10% bid guaranty, payable to the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any or all irregularities, mistakes, omission informalities relative thereto.
