The Department maintains strong ties to Austin’s thriving technology sector and leads innovation in areas including artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.To expand access to its world-class faculty and curriculum, UTCS launched its first fully online graduate degree in Computer Science (MSCS) in 2019. Building on strong demand, additional programs followed:• M.S. in Data Science (MSDS, launched 2021)• M.S. in Artificial Intelligence (MSAI, launched 2024)• Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CAIML, launched 2025)Together, these offerings comprise Computer and Data Science Online (CDSO).
