This work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of 95 WORKING DAYS beginning on the fifteenth calendar day after the date shown on the Notice to Proceed, or beginning on May 1st, whichever is later. The Contractor shall pay to the County of MODOC the sum of $7,500.00 per day, for each and every calendar days’ delay in finishing the work in excess of the number of working days prescribed above. The estimated cost of the base bid items is $7,000,000. The County of Modoc will receive bids until 2:00 p.m. on the bid open date at the following location: Modoc County Road Department, 202 West 4th Street, Alturas, CA 96101. The County of Modoc will open and publicly read the bids. Copies of the Bid Book, Notice to Bidders and Special Provisions, and project plans, may be examined at the following location: Modoc County Road Department, 202 West 4th Street, Alturas, CA 96101. Prevailing wages are required on this Contract. The Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations determines the general prevailing wage rates. Obtain the wage rates at the DIR website, http://www.dir.ca.gov. The federal minimum wage rates for this Contract as determined by the United States Secretary of Labor are available at https://sam.gov/wage-determinations#0
