    Description

    The Town of Hingham seeks electronic bids for on-call, full-service HVAC Mechanical Services to be performed in the Hingham Town Hall Building.

    The work under this contract shall consist of On-Call Full-Service HVAC mechanical services to be provided on an as-needed basis in the Town Hall, as well as semi-annual preventative maintenance for the life of the contract. The successful bidder shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary for the service, maintenance, preventative maintenance, installation, replacement, alteration, and/or repair of mechanical (HVAC) systems and any associated systems in Town Hall directed by Building Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with the specifications and terms and conditions shown herein.

    A bid deposit equal to 5% of the value of the total bid is due upon submission of the bid documents.

    The initial contract term is 24 months from the fully executed contract date with a 12-month extension option available to the Town.  In no case may the contract be extended beyond three years.

    Award of a contract does not obligate the Town to engage the Contractor in performing any minimum amount of service during the contract period other than semi-annual scheduled preventative maintenance.

    Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c. l49 §§26 to 27H inclusive. The Town of Hingham reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of the Town.

    The total estimated value of the contract is up to $150,000.

      Full service is defined in the Project Details Section and requires that the following licensed trades be employed with your company:   HVAC, refrigeration technicians, pipefitters and sheet metal workers capable of offering the services specified.

      The bidder agrees that upon notice of award as the Contractor, they will within ten (10) business days Saturday, Sunday, and legal Holidays excluded execute a contract in accordance with the terms of this bid and furnish sureties and insurance certificates as outlined in the conditions of this contract. 

      As set forth herein in accordance with these specifications, plans, and conditions, the undersigned agrees to enter into a standard contract form with the Owner’s awarding authority.

    • Prevailing Wage Rates (required)

      The undersigned bidder hereby certifies, under pains and penalties of perjury, that the foregoing bid is based upon the payment to laborers to be employed on the project of wages in an amount no less that the applicable prevailing wage rates established for the project by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development.  The undersigned bidder agrees to indemnify the awarding authority for, from and against any loss, expense, damages, actions or claims, including any expense incurred in connection with any delay or stoppage of the project work arising out of or as a result of (1) the failure of the said bid to be based upon the payment of the said applicable prevailing wage rates or (2) the failure of the bidder, if selected as the contractor, to pay laborers employed on the project the said applicable prevailing wage rates.

      By confirming, the Contractor certifies that the execution of this Agreement and the providing of labor, work and materials hereunder by the Contractor and any third party or subcontractor is and shall be in full compliance with the applicable conflict of interest laws including M.G.L. c. 268A and that there are no existing conflicts of interest which would prohibit the Contractor from providing labor, work and materials hereunder.

      5. Bidder must receive favorable ratings from references
      6. Bidders that do not meet these minimum qualifications will not be considered

       

      The Contractor's workforce must provide the following:

      1. Four (4) licensed HVAC mechanics that must provide copy's of those licensed employee's as part of the bud
      2. Two (2) licensed pipe fitters that must provide copy's of those licensed employee's as part of the bid 
      3. One (1) licensed electrician that must provide a copy of the licensed employee as part of the bid 
      4. Two (2) licensed sheet metal employees that must provide copy's of those licensed employee's as part of the bid
