This includes installing approximately 2,415 linear feet of 8-inch water main on Raymond Road, 1,500 linear feet of 8-inch water main on Earl Street, 1,500 linear feet of 8-inch water main on Gray Street, 630 linear feet of 8-inch water main on County Street, and 380 linear feet of 8-inch water main on King Street. The existing 6-inch water main on Raymond Street, Earl Street, and Gray Street, along with the existing 4-inch water main on Gray Street and County Street, will be abandoned in place. Additionally, approximately 720 linear feet of new 8-inch water main along Elizabeth Avenue (S.R. 2016) will be installed to tie into the existing water main, and two new fire hydrants will be installed on Chestnut Street near Elizabeth Avenue and County Street. Mill and overlay of all streets is a required scope item. The Work must be substantially completed within one hundred eighty (180) days from the issue of the Notice to Proceed.Each Proposal for the Project shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form provided by the Contract Documents, drawn to the order of the Muhlenberg Township Authority, and in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the extended Bid Amount, as a guarantee that if the Proposal is accepted, a Contract will be entered into and the performance thereby properly secured.Attention is called to the fact that prevailing minimum wage rates as determined by the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Industry must be paid by the Contractors on this project and that employees and applicants for employment shall not be discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. Each Bidder is required to meet the requirements of Public Works Employment Verification Act, Act 127 of 2012.The Muhlenberg Township Authority, Owner, hereby reserves the right, which is understood and agreed to by all bidders, to refuse and reject any or all bids submitted, to waive any informality in bids received, and to accept the Bid, which is in the best interest of the Authority, consistent with the laws affecting municipal contract awards.
