The general scope for the Norco Fire Station 47 HVAC Replacement includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to remove the existing HVAC system and install a new, high-efficiency system while maintaining continuous station operations.The contractor shall handle mobilization, permitting, inspections, and as-built documentation, as well as perform testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB), BIM clash detection, and full commissioning to ensure compliance with design specifications. Work includes selective demolition of roofing for structural modifications, removal of existing HVAC units, ductwork, thermostats, refrigerant and condensate piping, and gas piping. Structural tasks involve installing a new wood beam and equipment platform, reframing roof openings, and repairing roofing penetrations. Plumbing work includes installing new condensate drains, gas shut-off valves, and vibration/seismic controls.The HVAC scope covers procurement and installation of packaged heat pump units of various capacities, split systems, ductwork, insulation, refrigerant piping, dampers, silencers, sensors, and a new controls system with head-end equipment and CO₂ sensors. Accordingly, the Contractor shall perform all work in a manner that ensures uninterrupted functionality of the facility. When replacing air conditioning units, each unit shall be fully installed, connected, and operational by the end of the same workday in which installation commences. The Contractor shall sequence work, provide adequate staffing, and furnish any necessary temporary conditioning to maintain acceptable indoor environmental conditions at all times. Under no circumstances shall the Contractor’s activities impair, delay, or otherwise interfere with the essential operations of the Fire Station. Failure to comply with this requirement shall constitute a material breach of contract and may subject the Contractor to liquidated damages and other remedies as provided in the Contract Documents.
