The City of Sunnyvale (“City”) (hereinafter “City”) is seeking qualified contractors to provide on-callmechanical maintenance/repair and support services on an as needed basis by the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). Contractor shall possess a current Class “A” California Contractors License.It is anticipated that on-call contracts will be awarded for a two-year period to the pre-qualified contractors with two (2) one-year renewal periods at the sole discretion of the City. The number of Contractors selected will be at the sole discretion of the City and may be augmented, reduced, or terminated at any time. A contract award is not a guarantee of work.When a future project is available the City will provide information about that project and consider thecontractors with on-call contracts awarded, per the corresponding category, to engage for that opportunity. Projects will be identified based on the Department needs and funding availability. Contractors that are awarded on-call contracts will be considered for work opportunities based upon qualifications relevant to each project/task identified. The City will request a cost proposal on a project-by-project basis. If a reasonable fee cannot be achieved with the Contractor of choice, negotiations will proceed with the other qualified On-Call Contractors until a mutual agreement is reached.Depending upon the nature of services provided, and in accordance with IRS regulations for independent contractors, contracts may be established either as Services Agreements, Temporary Personnel Placement Agreements, or both.
