STATEMENT OF NEED: SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University (SUNY DHSU) intends to procure the services of a qualified company to provide Sensaphone Monitoring for Blood Bank refrigerators, Transplant Lab and Morgue on the Sensaphone alarm system used in SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, with strict adherence to manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements, as applicable. CONTRACT PERIOD: Five years BACKGROUND: SUNY Downstate Health Science University is a 346-certified bed academic medical center. The Sensaphone alarm system monitors equipment in the Blood Bank, Histocompatibility Laboratory, Transplant Lab, Operating Room, and the Morgue, spread over several floors as well as buildings within the institution. SCOPE OF SERVICES: The selected vendor will provide the following: • calibration • alarm event trail documentation • 24 hour phone support • on-site emergency services within 2-8 hours of call • service to be 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year • all parts, repairs, service calls and travel are included • provide written documentation as required by regulatory agencies, as applicable • website with 24 hour temperature monitoring and electronic sign of digital graphs • cloud based storage of all temperatures VENDOR TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: • Vendor must have 10 years’ experience in the monitoring, maintenance and repairs of the SensaPhone equipment used in SUNY Downstate Health Science University • Vendor must have trained technicians, with at least 5 years’ experience with the Sensaphone system • Vendor must be registered with Symplr and technicians must be background check and credentials verified • Vendor must have at least 10 years’ experience in a tertiary or academic medical center setting ◊ Vendor must provide at least 3 such references CONTRACT AWARD: SUNY Downstate Health Science University will make this award under its discretionary authority, pursuant to NYS Education Law 355(5)(b).
