    Description

    Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) intends to award a contract in accordance with FAR 12.102(a), for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold and only one source reasonably available to Hale Koa Hotel.

    The Government requires the use of Hale Koa Hotel for a Luau dinner on Wednesday during a conference, to ensure both logistical efficiency and participants’ safety. Moving over 200 conference attendees and their spouses, potentially totaling 400 individuals, to an alternate venue in the evening would present significant challenges. The coordination required to transport such a large group would present would involve the use of approximately 33 fully-loaded 12-passenger vans, navigating the busy streets of Waikiki during peak rush hour. This movement could result in delays and create security risks.

    Due to venue specific requirements at the Hale Koa Hotel is the only vendor capable of providing the required dinner and venue, in compliance with site restrictions for up to 400 attendees.

    THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notice to the Contracting Officer in the form of a capability statement. Supporting evidence in sufficient detail that demonstrates the ability to comply with the requirement listed must be furnished to the point of contact listed below by 23 April 2026 at 12:00pm HST.
