SIX-WHEEL DRIVE (6X6) UTILITY VEHICLE AND UPFIT PACKAGE

The Fire and Emergency Services Division, Directorate of Emergency Services (DES), US Army Garrison – Redstone Arsenal has a requirement to purchase a six-wheel drive (6 x 6) utility vehicle (UTV) and upfit package to enable capability to combat wildland fires on Redstone Arsenal. The UTV must be capable of operating on both dry and soggy terrain, as the threat of wildland fire exists in remote areas of Test Area 1 and Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, where ground conditions vary drastically. The UTV must also include a roll cage safety feature and high payload bed for transporting heavy and bulky firefighting equipment (50’ fire hose, rakes, flappers, chainsaws, watertanks, drip torches).
