The federal government—primarily DOD—spends over $100 billion annually on aerospace and aviation. Contracts span: aircraft manufacturing and modification, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO), avionics systems, propulsion systems, satellite design and manufacturing, unmanned aerial systems (UAS/drones), space launch services, air traffic control systems (FAA), and aerospace research and development. NASA, Air Force, Navy, Army, DARPA, and MDA are major contracting agencies.
