    About Total Small Business Set-Aside

Total Small Business Set-Asides are the most common form of federal set-aside contracting. All procurements between $10,000 and $250,000 are automatically set aside exclusively for small businesses. Above $250,000, a set-aside is required when there is a reasonable expectation of competitive offers from two or more small businesses at fair market price. The program does not require any special socio-economic certification, simply meeting the SBA size standard for your primary NAICS code is sufficient.

    Eligibility Requirements

    • Registered in SAM.gov as an active small business
    • Meets the SBA size standard for your primary NAICS code
    • No additional socio-economic certification required
    • Must be at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens
    • Business must be organized for profit and operate independently
